Beltino Toad is Slippy Toad's father, and the lead research director of the Cornerian Defense Forces. Although he was mentioned in the Official Nintendo Player's Guide of Star Fox 64, he didn't make an in-game appearance until Star Fox Assault, where he assisted Fox and the Team Star Fox in defeating the Aparoids. He discovered the Aparoids were sensitive to self-destruction and created a "self-destruct program" which when inserted into the Aparoid Queen, which would cause all the Aparoids, including the queen, to self-destruct.
