Verad Kalon was an unjoined Trill and failed host candidate who briefly stole the Dax symbiont from Jadzia Dax in 2370. (DS9 episode: "Invasive Procedures") Following the incident with Dax, Verad was sentenced to a year and a day at the mental ward of the Gheryzan Hospital. After serving his time and being declared cured, Verad emigrated off-world and found a job on the Federation outpost world of Shal Tul. There, he abducted a joined Trill named Duhan Vos, a member of the Trill Symbiosis Commission.
