Michael Beint (born 1925) appeared in Coronation Street in July 1968 as Jackson's Chip Shop assistant Ron White. In his long career of almost six decades he has appeared in numerous film and television series including The Avengers, Taxi!, No Hiding Place, The Man in Room 17, Softly Softly, Out of the Unknown, The Saint, Dixon of Dock Green, Callan, Special Branch, Nearest and Dearest, Elizabeth R, Z Cars, General Hospital , Bouquet of Barbed Wire, The Sweeney, The Bill, London's Burning, Doctors and Casualty. Film roles include Far from the Madding Crowd , Nuns on the Run and Elizabeth.
