The RT-33A and T-33A variants were a single-seat reconnaissance aircraft and a two-seat jet trainer aircraft respectively, both made mainly for export under the Military Aid Program (Mutual Defense Assistance Act) for export to then militarily weak pro-American nations like Portugal and West Germany.
