Captain Halvar Gunnarsen (unknown - 2125), known among the Red Faction as the "Butcher of Chryse", is a captain in the Earth Defence Force and has been likened to their pit bull. He has little or no regard for human life, infamously being assigned a battalion to subdue a miner's revolt that left three hundred civilians dead. Gunnarsen is assigned the Dust Sector, centrally in charge of keeping ore production running smoothly and the miners in check by any means. He is killed whilst making a run for it by Alec Mason after attempting to draw miners into a trap.
