Verl is a satyr who lives on the Fablehaven preserve. From the time they met in Fablehaven: Grip of the Shadow Plague, Verl had a crush on Kendra Sorenson, and repeatedly gives her gifts, such as a portrait and a statue, even though Doren warns him that she is "off limits" and "caretaker's granddaughter".
