The Battle of Megan was an armed engagement between the Manticore System Navy and a scouting party from the Free Brotherhood, a band of interstellar nomadic pirates. In the mid-15th Century PD, the Manticoran frigates Defiant and Triumph were on a survey mission in the Megan System. They encountered a scouting party from the Free Brotherhood. During the ensuing battle, Defiant was heavily damaged. Triumph continued to fight, being eventually destroyed with all hands, but allowing her crippled sister ship to escape towards Manticore and warn the Colony. (Companion)
