Michael Young is a former major league baseball player. He was originally drafted by the Texas Rangers and played all four infield positions for them throughout his career. First he moved from second base to shortstop to accomodate Alfonso Soriano. Then he played third base and first base as the needs arose. At the tail end of his career he played for the Phillies and Dodgers. He ended his career with a batting average greater than .300 and had been approaching 3000 hits until injuries and age ended his career.
