Starbase 36 was a Federation starbase that was administered by Starfleet. The USS Enterprise-D was scheduled to stop at Starbase 36 in late 2367. Dr. Beverly Crusher suggested that Lieutenant Commander La Forge have his VISOR checked for malfunctions during the stopover, planned for the following month. (TNG: "The Mind's Eye" ) According to Star Trek: Star Charts (p. 63) and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library ("Federation Historical Highlights, 2161-2385"), Starbase 36 was located in the Beta Quadrant.
