Joel is a prophetic book written by Joel the prophet that apppears in the Old Testament section of the Bible. It contains prophecy that relates to the times that the Left Behind books deal with. One particular event prophesied in this book is the gathering of nations at the Valley of Jehoshaphat for judgment in regards to their treatment of Israel.
