Masaru Yamanaka is a Japanese programmer who worked for Nintendo from 1988-2000. Working at R&D1, he was a programmer for Metroid II: Return of Samus, along with various other Game Boy games. While his departure from Nintendo is unconfirmed, his last credited game was Wario Land 3 in 2000, and has not been credited in a game since.
