Mollie Maureen (born Elizabeth Mary Campfield on 16th August, 1904 in Ireland, died London on 26th January, 1987) played Mrs Allendale on Coronation Street in June 1969. Her career began on BBC radio in the mid-1930s on musical and review shows such as Standing on a Corner, A Southern Maid and Tomorrow's Luck. She made her television debut in 1939 in A Ship in the Bay and during the Second World War read out short stories on the Home Service and appeared in Children's Hour.
