Mitsuo Arata (アラタ・ミツオ Arata Mitsuo) is a character in Eureka Seven: AO. Mitsuo is the father of Naru Arata and Miyu Arata. He, along with many other people from Iwato, believe Ao's mother, Eureka, is the cause for the islands bad luck since the day she fell from the sky. Mitsuo works on the Scub Coral at Okinawa, mining trapars for use by FP's and IFO's.
