Historically, Kafuristan has had a very oil-centric economy. Along with Badara, Kafuristan is one of the most oil rich nations in all of Terra. During the transitional period and the New Republic the economy changed expansively, going beyond oil. However, oil still remained a huge booster for national wealth. The largest industries of Kafuristan, besides oil, are textiles, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and mining.
