William Doolen (1841 – September 14, 1895) was a Union Navy sailor in the American Civil War and a recipient of the U.S. military's highest decoration, the Medal of Honor, for his actions at the Battle of Mobile Bay. Doolen's official Medal of Honor citation reads: Doolen died on September 14, 1895, at age 53 or 54 and was buried in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
