Basil IV (10 June 1779 -20 March 1835) was the Emperor of Diadochia from 1814 1835. His two decade rule on the throne was characterized by largely reactionary conservative policies, numerous wars, economic stagnation. It was during his reign that the Diadochian nationalist ideology of Orthodoxy, Autocracy, and Unity. A ideology which upheld orthodoxy, called for unconditional loyalty to the House of Komnenos-Palaiologos and called for national union of the empire's many ethnicities under the Diadochian banner.
