Breyon is a Human teenage boy who lives with his adopted stepmother Yvaine as a Nietzschean slave on the planet Midden. His father was killed by Nietzscheans in a tax dispute, and ever since then he has harbored a hatred of Nietzscheans. When his stepmother found Tyr Anasazi after Tyr crashed in the Eureka Maru, Breyon advocated killing Tyr and pretending that they had found him dead, but his stepmother claimed that it would be better if they kept him alive because the Nietzscheans would ask questions.
