The three Predacons were originally Autobot protoforms which where then stolen by Gigatron (Transmetals) and reformatted into Predacons. They left Cybertron with Gigatron and searched space for three years before entering a time pocket and being transported back to Earth in the time between the Machien wand Beast Wars.
