The Video Game Entertainment Board is an agency of the United States government under the Department of Communication, established in 1992 to provide fair, uncritical ratings for Video Games, determining their age group, and market practices. In recent years, starting in 2003, they have also began tracking sales and critical receptions of games, establishing the VGEB as the premier statistics tracker for video games.
