Adrianna Whitestar - Paladin of Tyr. The group, the Crypt Walkers, was tracking down a murderer who was concentrating on women. We'd had several close calls with trying to catch him, and Adrianna and one other character were even attacked during particularly bad night of fog (they couldn't see their attacker, and Adrianna was slashed across the back of the hand before the attacker withdrew). Doing some research, it was discovered that a knife which was brought back from a previous Ravenloft adventure (just before Adrianna joined them), and subsequently misplaced by a party member, was possibly responsible for this... a cursed knife which was forcing someone to wield it as a murderer. In our research it was found that the knife could be stopped if it was either held by a (person of) pure he
