The Desert Gold Mine is a location in EarthBound. It is a deep, maze-like mine in the Dusty Dunes Desert that can only be accessed after Ness and friends speak to the Topolla Theater manager in Fourside. Inside the caves are five large moles called Guardian Diggers who serve as the bosses of the Mine, and all five must be defeated seperately. The mine is filled with dangerous and bizarre enemies, many of them poisonous. Curiously, Exit Mice are found inside the mine. After Ness defeats the Guardian Diggers the mine becomes peaceful and he is rewarded by George Montague, who gives him a large diamond, the only thing discovered in the mine so far.
