The Bank of Occitania is the oldest bank currently in existance in Occitania. Founded in 1848, it acted as a de-facto central bank until 1973, when the larger Mediterranean Bank took over activities. It is headquartered at Place Mairie, 1300 Avenue des Hellènes.
