Strazdas was the second Lithuanian entry to the Eurovision Song Contest. Aistė Smilgevičiūtė started the final contest of the first millennium with this song. It performed preceding Belgium and at the close of voting, it finished in 20th place with 13 points. Because of this poor result, the country would be unable to participate in the following year's Contest, although it would still broadcast it, but would return for the 2001 Contest.
