Tamerlane was founded by CEO, Jim O'Brien on August 4, 2010. In October 2010, Tamerlane’s first logistics operations began in Afghanistan, and have since expanded throughout Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Sub-Saharan Africa. In March 2011, Tamerlane began its project management services and in February 2012, Tamerlane earned its first business facilitation client. In July 2012, Tamerlane officially launched a proprietary web-based logistics management platform called the Client Data Portal (CDP).[citation needed]
