The Freshmen Arc is the first story arc of Shinyaku Toaru Majutsu no Index. This story arc takes place a few days after the World War III Arc, in early November of the current year of the story timeline. Following the war's conclusion and the disappearance of Kamijou Touma, Accelerator and Hamazura Shiage have returned to Academy City, having seemingly freed themselves from the city's dark side and hoping to live their daily lives in peace. However they soon find themselves involved in a battle to protect a young girl called Fremea Seivelun from a group known as the Freshmen.
