Kitsune Sezaru was a shugenja of the Mantis Clan. He was sent to Toshi no Naishou, capital of Naishou Province, to represent his clan at court. In his way he spent several weeks in the village of Shizu Mura, located within the Kawa Forest. He had been fascinated for the legends the locals told about the forest, and its supposed supernatural inhabitants.
