Galactic War I, also called the First Galactic War, and GWI, was a Galaxy-wide war spawning over 25 years of conflict. The war was waged by the Republic Powers, consisting of the Third Galactic Republic, Mandalorian Empire, Hapes Consortium, Chiss Ascendancy, and the Hutts, against the Imperial Powers (also called the Imperial Alliance), consisting of the Galactic Empire, Sith-Arzetian Empire, Kranosyark Empire, and the Kaleesh. It was one of the most devastating conflicts the Galaxy had experience in centuries.
