Bill Maynard (born 8th October, 1928) is a British comic actor most famous for his roles as Selwyn Froggitt in Oh No, It's Selwyn Froggitt! (1974-1977) and its sequel Selwyn (1978), and as Claude Greengrass in Heartbeat (1992-2000) and its spin-off series The Royal (2003). On Coronation Street he played Mickie Malone in 1970. Maynard's dramatic talents were showcased in, among others: No Hiding Place, Armchair Theatre, Hunter's Walk, The Inheritors, The Sweeney, Trinity Tales, Tales of the Unexpected, Minder and Dalziel and Pascoe.
