The False Face Society is a magical society that deals with the affairs of the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) people in the Algonkian-Manitou Council and Sioux Nation. Traditionally, they are healers and spiritual guides, who are given almost religious respect among their people. Although it is a "secret society", they are widely-known and accepted in the NAN. They are forbidden to use their powers for violence or monetary gain. They have a strong bias against hermetic magic and cybertechnology. Most False Face members are respected members in their community, and range from homemakers to chiefs to business men, although many take up medical or spiritual specialties.
