Soo City (曽於 Soo City?) is a small city located in the Northeast of Kagoshima Prefecture with a population of just over 43,000 people (as of the 2006 census). It came into being in 2005 when Sueyoshi, Takarabe, and Ōsumi merged to form one city. It is near the border of Miyazaki, and the JETs here enjoy close ties with those in Miyakonojo, Miyazaki, not far away.
