The conflict's roots could be found in the fall of Jedi Master Shingi Kaelum to the dark side; he re-named himself Darth Domināt after his turn, and used his influence to persuade a significant portion of the Jedi Order to join him in his cause—control of the galaxy. When Jedi Grand Master Koro Hocha attempted to reason with Domināt, the latter attacked the Jedi Temple, which resulted in the beginning of the war.
