Jesse Cail Burkett (December 4, 1868 - May 27, 1953), nicknamed "The Crab", was a Major League Baseball player at the turn of the 20th century. He also was a coach in the Major Leagues under John McGraw for the New York Giants, owned and managed the minor league Worcester club, and coached Holy Cross College. Burkett was elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1946. He became the first West Virginian elected to Hall of Fame.
