Peter Sam, formerly Stuart, is a green Edward Thomas 0-4-2 narrow gauge tank locomotive in Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends. He is a happy, kind, friendly, loyal, hard-working, clever and wise little engine who never grumbles about late hours and extra work. He has a special funnel he obtained after an accident with some slate cars, and is very proud of it. He always treats the coaches nicely, and even the cars hardly play tricks on him, and has a good working relationship with Skarloey, and sometimes has to apologise for his friend Sir Handel's behavior.
