Upload means to load or send a file to the Second Life asset server from a local computer. Upload is often mistakenly referred to as download (as in "download to your computer"). Download is from a remote location whereas upload is to a remote location. Download is to a local location and upload is from a local location. There is a L$10 fee for uploading a texture, animation, or sound in SL to the resident's inventory. Uploading is done from the file menu.
