The Prince Rupert Register was the local daily paper of Prince Rupert, Vancouver. On their way to The Six Nations, Colonel Thomas Bushell and Captain Samuel Stanley needed to overnight in Prince Rupert. In the morning, over breakfast, both read the Register and were dismayed to see the front page article on the gunfight they had had with the Sons of Liberty in Buckley Bay the previous day and the death of Lt. Col. Felix Crooke. Their concern was that such a shocking story would be picked up by the papers across the North American Union and would inform the Sons of their continuing investigation of the theft of The Two Georges.
