Darth Lettow was a female Twi'lek Dark Lady of the Sith during the Millennium of Hiding. She was responsible for the creation of the Dark Guards of the Lettow, as she wanted to find a way for the leaders of the Order of the Sith Lords to quickly and effective select a new apprentice upon the death of their apprentice or their own usurpation to the throne.
