Pete met Natalie when they were both working as freelance wait staff at a private party thrown by Roger Corwin . Pete asked her out, and their date at Soul Train was a great success even though Natalie had to leave early. Pete and Natalie later moved in together. Pete thought it was a huge step when they got a puppy. He named him Spike.
