Ian Buck was the son of Larry and Avis Buck, and twin brother of Lucy. Ian and Lucy were born in 1923 and lived at 9 Coronation Street. The babies were often left alone while Avis worked at the Rovers Return and Larry drank. On one such occasion before their first birthday, a fire started at No.9 which Larry discovered in time to raise the alarm. Tommy Foyle managed to save Ian but in all the confusion, Lucy was forgotten. Larry, Avis and Ian moved to Newcastle in 1926.
