He played junior hockey for the Montreal Nationale from 1944 to 1947. He then joined the senior Valleyfield Braves and played for them until they folded in 1955. He won the Alexander Cup in 1951. While with the Braves, he was called up to the Montreal Canadiens in 1953-54, scoring one assist in three games. From 1955 till his retirement 1957 Corriveau played for the Montreal Royals.
