An Elizabeth collar is a collar that is extremely wide in radius. It is named after the collar worn by Queen Elizabeth. Today, it is used mainly on animals, such as cats and dogs, in order to prevent them from scratching (due to skin rash, etc.) Due to it's comical look, it is oftened used as the butt of a joke.
