When the Freedom Fighters infiltrated the wreckage of Citadel Robotnik to shut down the meeting, Norman commandeered one of Doctor Robotnik's old Egg-o-Matics and used it to attack the heroes. Unfortunately, the craft's design was flawed; due to the arms being made from springs, one hammer blow from the weapon saw a fist recoil back and into Norman's face. Despite his failure, he continued to insist that Robotnik would return.
