The 2555 Riots, also denominated as The Year of Sorrow was a series of coordinated attacks upon the UNSC by Insurrectionist groups, primary the United Rebel Front. It ended on the disbanding of the URF and the eventual creation of the Rebel Alliance of Freedom, which started a second civil war between the Humans, known as the Second Insurrection.
