Gerutas are insect-like creatures who first appeared in Metroid. They're a flying species who'll zoom down and attack their opponents with their claws. Like many bugs in the game, they'll hang from ceilings before jumping down to attack. The species is presumably extinct now, as both Zebes and the BioLogic Space Labs were destroyed.
