The S540BM features a mahogany body with a burl mahogany top and back bolted to a maple neck with a 22-fret bound rosewood fretboard with oval position markers. Components include a low-profile double locking tremolo bridge, a locking nut and Ibanez pickups. The S540FM is a similar model with a flamed maple top. The S540LTD is another similar model without the exotic top and with sharktooth fretboard inlays. Ths S540BM was discontinued after 1995.
