A methane lake was a body of liquid methane which could be found on the high-gravity planet of Malastare. The Malastare 100 Podracing circuit was built around a methane lake. During Malastare's Vinta Harvest Classic race, the Twi'lek Podracer pilot By't Distombe crashed while flying over a methane lake, thanks to a methane geyser that sprung from underneath his cockpit.
