Sears & Roebuck was one of the most popular mail order catalogs of Indiana Jones's era. When, in 1957, Mutt Williams tried to use an unusually large rat snake as a makeshift cord to pull Indiana Jones out of a dry sandpit, the ophidiophobic archaeologist insisted that the boy get a real rope instead. In response, Williams pointed out that there was no Sears & Roebuck where they were in the Amazon.
