Bethanamine is a little known drug used to allow a Trill symbiont to be safely removed from its host. Bethanamine was used on a number of joined Trill after an attack by Verad Kalon's terrorist group on the symbiont pools. This allowed the symbionts to be returned to the pools and spawn, without killing the hosts.
