An artificial gravity generator is a device which generates gravitons, allowing individuals in low or micro-gravity environments to experience the sensation of gravity. In 2254 the USS Enterprise was able to disable the USS Cortez's artificial gravity generator when the two ships were battling which gave the Enterprise some time to recover whilst the Cortez's controllers were distracted by the lack of gravity.
