The Gnarled Oak is a great oak possessed with an evil spirit on the edge of the Owlshriek Forest. Using its enormous branches it pulls in victims towards its trunk and upon making them unconscious absorbs them within its trunk, where, to this day, the images of their agonised faces stare out onto the world, lifeless.
