Hornblower and the Hotspur was a novel from Earth written by C. S. Forester. The story featured a British naval captain who gathered intelligence from fishermen along the French coast during the Napoleonic Wars. In 2156, Jonathan Archer used Hornblower and the Hotspur as inspiration for his Operation Hotspur during the Earth-Romulan War. The novel also happened to be a favorite of Admiral Samuel Gardner.
